Yes, graduation! I will be graduating college soon. That is weird, huh? It seems kinda weird to me at least. But at the same time, I can see it is 'a part of growing up' or whatever, so I kind of knew it was coming. What I'm doing after that, I do not know, but I trust that God has a plan.

This past weekend my wife and I visited a church near Chicago in order to see if it is somewhere that she would be interested in having a job and if they would be interested in having her work for them. She is one of the final candidates for a youth ministry director job, so that is pretty neat! So we have been praying about that, and so have other people, and we are both thankful that so many people have been praying for us and are interested in what is going on in our lives. If you were on of those people, thank you!

In other news, things have been interesting at our apartment complex lately. A couple days ago the water was shut off for a few hours. Earlier this week we woke up in the middle of the night to police lights flashing outside our window (somewhere in the parking lot). We don't know why they were there. So that was fun. Sort of not really.

I guess that is it for now...for those of you who actually read this. If you have any questions you want answered or comments you want to give, feel free to do so! You may have noticed that you have to prove that you are a human now in order to do that. It is a recent change, because I've been getting some spam comments lately that barely pass for English (it is more like word salad) and then have a link on them. No thanks, bro.

I hope you have a good day!
Here is a thought: Matthew 5:8 “Blessed are the pure in heart, for they shall see God.”

  1. Have you ever heard of love languages? I'm curious what you are (were?).

Here's a quiz to find out what language you are (just a forewarning, the quiz is delegate a large chunk of time to it).

Here's a link to the love languages book (in case you've never heard of it or want to read more about the love languages).

Like I said, I'm curious to know what you are, but I suppose you don't have to tell me (or tell the Internet, as the case may be). At the very least, though, you and your wife might enjoy reading the book together or going through the quiz (separately) and letting each other know your love language.

  2. I thought the quiz was longer...apparently it only takes about 10-15 minutes.

  3. Yeah, I have wanted to read the book for a couple years, and my wife and I have taken a quiz on it before and found that ours were quite similar. Lately though it seems like things have changed a little bit, because she has been busier and appreciates me doing things to help clean up our apartment a bit (which reflects acts of service or deeds or whatever that one is). And I have thought about writing a post that would attempt to describe which of the love languages God 'speaks' to us. (Spoiler: I think it would be all five!)

In response to your question, my top love languages are quality time and physical touch. I think words of encouragement was a close third though. What are your love languages?

  4. quality time and physical touch, I think.

And I think writing a post about which love language God 'speaks' to us in would be good..

  5. Do you think there's truth in the statement "What you don't know can't hurt you"?

  6. You still like the band "Fun", right? Ever heard this song?

And this song has a pretty good message....

  7. I think the statement "What you don't know can't hurt you" is not true, but only because it implies that what you don't know can never hurt you. I think sometimes it can, and sometimes it can't. What you don't know about the life cycle of a star is not going to hurt you. What you don't know about why your car is making a funny noise or not running well can potentially hurt you. It depends on the situation in my opinion.

I have heard both of the songs, and I kind of like both of them. The first one is more catchy in my opinion, and from what I can understand from the lyrics I like the message it has. I also like the message of the second song, though I am less familiar with it.

I have a question for you, if you don't mind. You seem to know me, but you are posting as Anonymous. What is your name?

  8. Also, sorry I haven't replied for so long..the blogging mood has not struck me lately, it seems :/

  9. yeah, no. I'm not telling you my name--that would defeat the purpose of posting as Anonymous.

  10. Ok, I can't argue with that logic. I hope you enjoy my blog!
